John Holt Potter
The Reverend John “Jack” H. Potter is the Rector of the Anglican Church of the Redeemer. He has been the rector of Church of the Redeemer since its inception in January 2008. During the past several years he has been actively involved in the ministry of the Anglican Communion Network in New England and its development into the Anglican Diocese in New England which is part of a united, biblical missionary movement of Anglicans in fellowship with Anglican Christians around the world. The Anglican Church in North America is ready and willing to work with other Christians to proclaim the Gospel in our region and beyond. He currently serves on the Standing Committee of the Anglican Diocese in New England.
During Father Potter’s ten years of leadership as the Rector of St. John’s Episcopal Church in Franklin, the parish was committed to programs of Christian education and spiritual growth for all ages. The Alpha course, The Truth Project, other adult education offerings and a biblically-based Sunday School curriculum for children were important elements by which the parish pursued its mission to proclaim Jesus Christ as Lord in the power of the Holy Spirit and to share the Gospel with others. These offerings and Sunday morning worship were designed to help parishioners developed a richer and deeper relationship with Jesus Christ as their Savior and Lord.
Father Jack grew up in New Hampshire, graduated from Dartmouth College and received a Master of Business Administration from The Amos Tuck School of Business Administration. He practiced as a Certified Public Accountant for 20 years, was a partner in an international CPA firm and also was involved in other business activities. He received a Master of Divinity from Trinity School for Ministry in Ambridge, Pennsylvania and was ordained a priest in 1994.
Father Jack and his wife, Gail, have been married for 45 years and are delighted to be settled in Franklin after moving many times during their married life. They have two adult children and four grandchildren, all of whom live in New England.
