Potter. He served for thirteen years within The Episcopal Church and is now a priest in the Anglican Church in North America. The Rev. Alan Bouffard, serves as Vicar of Redeemer in Norwood.

John Holt Potter

The Reverend John “Jack” H. Potter is the Rector of the Anglican Church of the Redeemer. He has been the rector of Church of the Redeemer since its inception in January 2008. During the past several years he has been actively involved in the ministry of the Anglican Communion Network in New England and its development into the Anglican Diocese in New England which is part of a united, biblical missionary movement of Anglicans in fellowship with Anglican Christians around the world. The Anglican Church in North America is ready and willing to work with other Christians to proclaim the Gospel in our region and beyond. He currently serves on the Standing Committee of the Anglican Diocese in New England.

During Father Potter’s ten years of leadership as the Rector of St. John’s Episcopal Church in Franklin, the parish was committed to programs of Christian education and spiritual growth for all ages. The Alpha course, The Truth Project, other adult education offerings and a biblically-based Sunday School curriculum for children were important elements by which the parish pursued its mission to proclaim Jesus Christ as Lord in the power of the Holy Spirit and to share the Gospel with others. These offerings and Sunday morning worship were designed to help parishioners developed a richer and deeper relationship with Jesus Christ as their Savior and Lord.

Father Jack grew up in New Hampshire, graduated from Dartmouth College and received a Master of Business Administration from The Amos Tuck School of Business Administration. He practiced as a Certified Public Accountant for 20 years, was a partner in an international CPA firm and also was involved in other business activities. He received a Master of Divinity from Trinity School for Ministry in Ambridge, Pennsylvania and was ordained a priest in 1994.

Father Jack and his wife, Gail, have been married for 45 years and are delighted to be settled in Franklin after moving many times during their married life. They have two adult children and four grandchildren, all of whom live in New England.Alan Bouffard

Alan is the Vicar of the Norwood congregation of the Anglican Church of the Redeemer. During 2009 he was the Curate in Franklin and for the preceding six years he was the leader of the Norwood Anglican Fellowship.

Alan grew up in Pittsburgh when it was known as the “Steel City”. He and his family were members of Calvary Church. He attended the University of Pittsburgh and received a B.S. in Mathematics. He worked for U.S. Steel Corp. for five years before going to law school, and he spent nine months working at a steel mill as part of the management training program. After graduation from law school, he spent five years as an Assistant City Solicitor for the City of Pittsburgh.

Alan moved to the Greater Boston area in 1981 to attend Harvard Divinity School, where he met his wife, Vivien. He received a Master of Divinity degree in 1985. He continued to practice law and to engage very actively in lay ministry.

Alan entered the ordained ministry in 2008 after practicing law for 32 years. He served as a Deacon for one year and was ordained as a priest in the Anglican Church in North America in 2009.

Alan’s wife, Vivien, is the organist/pianist for the Norwood congregation. Alan is a Red Sox and Patriots fan.Father John (Jack) H. Potter Rector774-571-8579

Potter’s ClayPotter's Clay was named by the suggestion of lead guitarist, Chip Pisani. The inspiration came from “Abba Father,” the group's unofficial song. “Abba, Abba Father, you are the potter, we are the clay.” The members wish to be the Father’s clay using music to bring his joy and grace to all. The Potter’s Clay contact is Chris Miller at 508-541-4602.

Our Beliefs/History Christine Gruner http://www.redeemeranglicanchurch.org//?id=721 2009-11-19T07:25:49Z

Who may worship with us?

You may! We invite everyone to come and worship with us. You don’t have to be a believing Christian to come to our services. If you are a “seeker,” please feel welcome to seek God with us - we are all at different places on our journey.

If you want to know more about the Christian faith or to find out what we believe and how we try to live it out, we would love to meet you. You matter at Redeemer and we welcome you!

Who We Are

The people of the Anglican Church of the Redeemer affirm The Jerusalem Declaration issued in June 2008 at the conclusion of the Global Anglican Future Conference (GAFCON) – the Declaration is available at http://www.gafcon.org/news/gafcon_final_statement/

† The Anglican Church of the Redeemer is a community of Christians who seek to follow Jesus Christ and lead others into a saving relationship with Him.

† We practice the Christian Faith in the Anglican tradition.

† We read and study the Bible, through which God has declared the Good News of salvation from sin and the hope of eternal life.

† We celebrate Holy Eucharist (Holy Communion) each week. All baptized Christians may receive the “bread of life” and “cup of salvation”.

† We worship God with a blend of traditional and contemporary music.

† We will have a range of children and youth ministry offerings.

† We seek to serve God and our neighbors with a range of ministries – in Franklin and Norwood and beyond our local communities.

† We have prayer teams available at each service for everyone who wants to receive prayer for themselves, family members, friends or loved ones.

† We eagerly join with the parishes of the Anglican Church in North America in “reaching North America with the transforming love of Jesus Christ.”

Our History

The Anglican Church of the Redeemer was incorporated as a not-for-profit corporation on September 19, 2007 under the laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. A group of believers came together and after significant prayer and discussion made the decision to form the Anglican Church of the Redeemer to uphold the historic faith, proclaim the unchanging Gospel and continue to be aligned with other Anglican Christians who are like minded. The parish has been meeting for regular Sunday worship since January 6, 2008 – The Feast of the Epiphany.

We meet at 31 Hayward Street in Franklin for worship, Sunday school and other ministries with Father Jack Potter, our rector. We also have a second location at 71 Bond Street in Norwood where Fr. Alan Bouffard serves as the vicar.

Prayer Christine Gruner http://www.redeemeranglicanchurch.org//?id=722 2009-11-19T08:24:32Z

Parish Prayer

Heavenly Father, we come to you in love with praise and thanksgiving for all you have done for us, both known and unknown. In your mercy, bless us with your loving kindness, mend our brokenness, and heal our hurts. May we forgive others as Christ taught us to forgive.

Let the flame of the Holy Spirit burn brightly within us and empower us so that we are beacons shining the Light of Christ wherever we go. Help us to boldly share and live out the Gospel in our daily lives with those that are living in darkness and those in need. Open our hearts and make us yours. We are your hands and feet.

Lord Jesus, you are our Redeemer, the Rock on which we stand, our Shelter during the storms, and the Cornerstone of our faith. May all that we do and say be honoring to you. Amen.

Prayer Ministries

During the time of Holy Communion on Sundays, a team is available to pray for anyone who would like prayers for healing or other concerns. All are welcome to go for prayer.

There is also an opportunity to place prayer requests in the “Prayer Box” in the Coffee Hour area. The Parish Prayer Team will lift these prayers to the Lord during their Tuesday evening gathering.

The Parish Prayer Line seeks to offer prayer support for those in need. We all go through difficulties or need God’s guidance or comfort at various times in our lives and this ministry receives confidential prayer requests that are passed along to the members of the group for prayer. To request prayer, contact Gail Potter at 774-571-8579 or email prayer@redeemeranglicanchurch.org.

Ongoing ProjectsFranklin Food PantryThe Outreach Ministry collects non-perishable items at the weekly Sunday service. Please place the items in the designated basket located in the lobby. As you shop this week, please remember the people who need services provided by the Franklin Food Pantry.

Bibles Unbound Bibles unbound is an ongoing Outreach Committee project which sends Bibles to Christians and non-Christians in other lands. Each month five Bibles are blessed at the close of an ACR service and then sent to individuals pre-selected by the Bibles Unbound organization, which is part of the Voice of the Martyrs. Currently our blessed Bibles are being sent to China. Since January, ACR participated in a program which sent over 10,000 Bibles to Indonesia. It is hard to comprehend that in many Middle Eastern, Asian, and North African countries, it is dangerous to hold a church service, share the Christian faith, or to own a Bible. Participating in this ministry to our persecuted brothers and sisters will make a difference. In the words of our Lord, “Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” John: 8:32. For more information check out the website at www.biblesunbound.com.

In addition to our ongoing Outreach projects, we participate in monthly initiatives.
