Ministries

Altar Guild
The Altar Guild sets up the altar for Sunday worship services.  It is a beautiful way to serve the Lord as we come together to worship Him.  Training is provided for those who are interested.

For more information or to join this important ministry, contact Oliver Gruner at 508-520-0675 or email oliver@iconics.com.

Adult Education
This ministry provides ways to deepen your understanding of the Bible and the Christian faith and seeks to help you draw closer to our Lord Jesus.  Everyone is invited and encouraged to participate in the various offerings during the year.  It’s also a great way to get to know others in our fellowship as we seek to live out God’s will for our lives.

To be a part of the team to review various educational offerings, contact Christine Gruner at 508-520-0675 or email cmgruner@verizon.net.

Caring Cooks
Caring Cooks prepare and deliver home cooked meals to those in need, such as folks recovering from an operation, suffering with an illness, a new mother arriving home from the hospital, or a family or person needing assistance. Please contact Nancy Gerry, Program Coordinator, at 508-520-3074 to make arrangements for meals or if you'd like to be a volunteer.

Church Formation Prayer Team
This group meets regularly to pray about different aspects of the formation of the church and prays for wisdom, discernment, and direction as to what God is calling us do.

For more information about joining this group, contact Barbara Tillinghast at 508-668-9212 or email angel37till@comcast.net.

Counters
This is an important group that’s needed to care for the church in a financial way.  Counters give an hour of their time after the service on a rotating basis to separate the money, accounting for the weekly collection as either loose plate, pledge, coffee hour, etc.  Counting is done in pairs and training is available for new people looking to serve the church in this way.

To be a part of this important ministry, contact Pat Salvas at 508-528-0466 or email patsalvas@verizon.net.

Healing Ministry
Do you feel called to pray for others?  This ministry is made up of people committed to provide prayer opportunities for people during Sunday morning worship (usually during communion time).

To learn more, contact Gail Potter at 508-541-2396 or email potter.jg@gmail.com.

Lay Eucharistic Ministry
Lay Eucharistic Ministers are those that help our priest lead Sunday worship services.  Duties include administering the chalice during the Holy Eucharist, reading the psalm appointed for the day, and leading the Prayers of the People.

Training is available and for more information you may contact Wendy DiRico at layministry@redeemeranglicanchurch.org.

Lectors
Do you love to read and share God’s Word?  Perhaps this is the ministry for you.  Lectors read the appointed lessons during the Sunday worship services.

For more information, contact Wendy DiRico at layministry@redeemeranglicanchurch.org.

Music
Psalm 96: “O sing to the Lord a new song; sing to the Lord, all the earth. Sing to the Lord, bless His name; tell of His salvation from day to day. Declare His glory among the nations….”

The mission of the ACR Music Ministry is to lead praise and worship to our Lord, to encourage our brothers and sisters in their faith through scripture-based music, and to spread the Good News of salvation to all through Christian music.

At present both volunteer ensembles share their musical skills on Sundays at the ACR – they are: the Potter’s Clay and His Kingdom Singers.

Potter’s Clay Potter’s
Clay was named by the suggestion of lead guitarist, Chip Pisani. The inspiration came from the song, which is unofficially the group’s official song, “Abba Father” – “Abba Abba Father, you are the potter, we are the clay.” The group wishes to be the Father’s clay using music to bring his joy and grace to all. Potter’s Clay has been as large as 10-12 musicians, but is currently playing in a much smaller acoustic ensemble with musicians, Chip Pisani and Chris Miller, and singer Peggy Almanas. This configuration matches the smaller, temporary space for ACR services. When we move to a new church home and a larger space, new musicians will always be welcome. The Potter’s Clay contact is Chris Miller @ 508-541-4602.

His Kingdom Singers
During 2006, this group was formed to sing an a cappella piece, “Mary Did You Know,” at a Christmas church service. As is often said, “The rest is history.” This old-time, country Gospel group of four continues to pick and sing at ACR on at least two Sundays each month. The group includes Mary and Paul Potter, Carol Cochrane, and Elwood Willey. The Singer’s repertoire includes a cappella music with an Appalachian flavor and traditional and contemporary Gospel music with acoustic guitar accompaniment. More information about this group? Contact Elwood Willey @ 508-668-5690.

Outreach
The Anglican Church of the Redeemer Outreach Ministry focuses on the call in our Parish Prayer to “…..Boldly share and live out the Gospel in our daily lives with those in darkness and those in need…” This ministry is concerned with serving those in spiritual, physical, or social distress, whether locally or beyond our borders. In carrying out this ministry our goal is to meet the needs of our brothers and sisters and to encourage their discovery of and growth in the Christian faith. With our Lord’s guidance, we, His servants, are His hands and feet.

Do you feel called to be a part of this ministry? If you would like to join in Outreach activities, please contact Elwood or Gail Willey at 508-668-5690. Outreach meetings are held monthly on the 4th Wednesday and are open to interested parishioners.

Ongoing Outreach Projects

Franklin Food Pantry
The Outreach Ministry collects non-perishable items at the weekly Sunday service. Please place the items in the designated basket located in the lobby. As you shop this week, please remember the people who need services provided by the Franklin Food Pantry.

Bibles Unbound
Bibles unbound is an ongoing Outreach Committee project which sends Bibles to Christians and non-Christians in other lands. Each month five Bibles are blessed at the close of an ACR service and then sent to individuals pre-selected by the Bibles Unbound organization, which is part of the Voice of the Martyrs. Currently our blessed Bibles are being sent to China. Since January, ACR participated in a program which sent over 10,000 Bibles to Indonesia. It is hard to comprehend that in many Middle Eastern, Asian, and North African countries, it is dangerous to hold a church service, share the Christian faith, or to own a Bible. Participating in this ministry to our persecuted brothers and sisters will make a difference. In the words of our Lord, “Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” John: 8:32. For more information check out the website at www.biblesunbound.com.

Monthly Outreach Projects

March
Outreach collected $497 in contributions for Kenya Relief, which will be forwarded to the Anglican Relief and Development Fund (ARDF), which is a ministry of the Anglican Communion Network. ARDF will be cooperating with the Church of Kenya and other organizations to respond to the needs of Kenyans impacted by the terrible violence following the contested national elections. Projects there will focus on: rescue and relief; reconciliation; and rebuilding. (See www.anglicanaid.net.) Thanks to all who participated in this ACR Outreach project.

April
The Outreach fundraising project for April is the Random Smile Project. Located in Franklin, this non-profit organization promotes community involvement. They help families and individuals in need in Franklin and nearby towns by providing food and clothing, donating appliances, even helping with emergency home repairs. Random Smile project examples include: a wheelchair ramp at the home of a ten year old girl who suffers from cerebral palsy; a railing on the stairs in the home of a gentleman who also suffers from cerebral palsy; and the installation a washer/dryer for a man who was unable to leave his home to do his laundry.

Random Smile also recognizes unsung heroes in our community, whether it is a helpful neighbor or a teacher that has gone the extra mile for a student. They also urge the involvement of our youth in community service by having them donate their time to helping those who may be disabled or elderly. For more information checkout: www.randomsmile.org.

May
The May project will be a Woman’s Concern – more details to follow.

Prayer Line
We all go through difficulties or need God’s guidance or comfort at various times in our lives and this group seeks to offer prayer support for those in need.  This ministry receives confidential prayer requests that are passed along to the members of the group for prayer.

To join this ministry or to request prayer, contact Gail Potter at 508-541-2396 or email potter.jg@gmail.com.

Usher/Greeter Ministry
As an usher/greeter for the church, you are welcoming people to worship and are ambassadors for Christ.  Some of the duties include greeting people, handing out worship and song booklets, bringing the offering tray and collection baskets to the altar, and helping our priest greet people after the service handing out visitor cards when appropriate.

If you enjoy meeting and greeting people and would like more information about serving the Lord in this way, contact Dick Hynes at 508-528-5766 or email richard.hynes@hobartcorp.com.

Women of Faith Book Club
The book club is open to all women in the church and their friends.  They meet on a rotating basis at member’s homes to discuss a book that has been previously selected by the group.  They meet approximately every other month for discussion, fun, and fellowship.

For more information, contact Christine Schrade-Keddy at 508-498-5052 or email missistine@yahoo.com.
